Why we rate it that way

Vortex Competitions is one of the more technically transparent operators we have checked. Every competition carries a ticket cap and per-person limit, its draw-history page publishes an audit hash for each completed draw, and its random number generator holds a GLI certificate dated January 2026. Its account tools are good: spend caps that can be set to £0, cool-off breaks from a day up to a year or indefinitely, ID verification and links to GamCare and BeGambleAware, and Vortex Cash winnings can be withdrawn to a bank once they reach £10. The score is held back by clause 7.1, which says no correspondence will be entered into on the promoter's decisions, by two different complaints procedures published on the site, and by a thin recent review stream of only 15 Trustpilot reviews in the past year. We found no pattern of unpaid prizes. For low-stakes players who want verifiable draws, it is a strong option.

Pros
  • +Random number generator certified by testing lab GLI (certificate dated 15 January 2026), with a public draw-history page publishing an audit hash for each draw.

  • +Strong account controls: spend caps from £0, cool-off breaks up to a year or indefinitely, ID checks, and GamCare and BeGambleAware links.
  • +Vortex Cash prizes can be withdrawn to your bank once you hold £10 or more, and reviews describe large cash wins paid the same day.
Cons

Frequently asked questions

Is Vortex Competitions legit?+

Yes. Vortex Competitions is run by Vortex Competitions Ltd (Companies House 14243035), incorporated in Cardiff in 2022, whose directors are Mark McDonald and Liam Skyrme. It holds a 4.6 out of 5 Trustpilot score from around 1,780 reviews, uses a GLI-certified random number generator and offers a free postal route. Entry is for UK residents aged 18 or over.

How are Vortex Competitions winners chosen?+

Winners are picked by the CompEngine random number generator, which testing lab GLI certified in January 2026, either automatically or during a live draw. Vortex's draw-history page lists each completed draw with an audit hash and sequence number, designed to make the record tamper-evident, and its terms say competition end dates are never changed.

Can you enter Vortex Competitions for free?+

Yes. Its terms allow free entry by first or second class post to Vortex Competitions Postal Entries, PO BOX 2589, Cardiff, CF23 0LU. The terms ask for your full name, address, phone number and email; include the competition name too. Each entry must be posted separately and arrive before the closing date. Entry is for over-18s.

Can you set a spending limit on Vortex Competitions?+

Yes. The My Safe Play area of your account lets you set a spend cap, from £0 upwards, over a daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or custom period; a lower cap applies straight away. You can also take a cool-off break of one day, one week, one month, three months, one year or indefinitely, and the page links to GamCare, BeGambleAware, Citizens Advice and Samaritans.

Why is PrizeDrawsDaily's rating different from Vortex Competitions' Trustpilot score?+

Trustpilot averages customer stars; our Trust Score measures risk to you. Vortex's certified draws, audit trail and spend tools would put it near the top of our scale, but clause 7.1 of its terms says 'no correspondence or discussion will be entered into' on its decisions, which caps the score at 4.1.

In their own words

“Cardiff-based competition site for cash, tech, vehicles and holidays at low ticket prices, with live draws and a GLI-certified random number generator.”

Trust Notes

PDD Trust Score 4.1/5 · Trustpilot 4.6. We score risk to you, not the star average. What earns the score: Vortex's draws run on the CompEngine random number generator, certified by testing lab GLI in January 2026, and its draw-history page publishes an audit hash for every completed draw. Every competition shows its ticket cap, sold count and per-person limit. The account's Safe Play area offers spend caps from £0, cool-off breaks up to a year or indefinitely, ID verification and links to GamCare and BeGambleAware, and Vortex Cash can be withdrawn once you hold £10. It has signed the government's voluntary prize-draw code, and we found no pattern of unpaid prizes. What holds it back: clause 7.1 says no correspondence will be entered into on the promoter's decisions, which caps the score at 4.1. The site publishes two complaints procedures with different contact emails and timescales, the spend tools are not described on any public page, and only 15 Trustpilot reviews arrived in the past year. Checked 11 October 2026.
